Those of us who are already in Sunday night withdrawals from Game of Thrones were saddened to hear news of a filming delay. From a Podcast featuring the masterminds behind the show they stated the following:
"We don’t have an air date yet but this year will probably be a little bit later. We’re starting a bit later because at the end of this season, winter is here, and that means that sunny weather doesn’t really serve our purposes any more. So we kind of pushed everything down the line so we could get some grim, grey weather even in the sunnier places that we shoot.”
Which makes sense because winter can't really be here if there are birds chirping an sun shining, though that doesn't help our sadness over the news. At least we have The Walking Dead returning on schedule in October!
